The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) is the peak body representing almost 1000 Men’s Sheds and is recognised as one of Australia’s largest male-based community development organisations. (Learn more here)
AMSA was established in 2007 by the Australian independent community-based Men’s Sheds to represent, support and promote the Men’s Shed movement. It was founded on the principle of sharing information between sheds and those communities wishing to establish and operate a Men’s Shed. It acts as a central hub for information exchange.
AMSA, funded by the Federal Department of Health, provides practical support to Men’s Sheds and delivera a wide range of services, aims to improve the health and wellbeing of members and reduce the number of men who are at risk from preventable health issues that may emanate from isolation
AMSA recognises as a Men’s Shed any community-based, non-profit, non-commercial organisation that is accessible to all men and whose primary activity is the provision of a safe and friendly environment where men are able to work on meaningful projects.
Dorrigo Plateau Men's Shed Inc. opened on Saturday the 14th. April 2018.

President's Report
President’s Report delivered to a General Meeting of the Dorrigo Men’s Shed Incorporated on 23rd.June 2018:
“The Shed is now open and going well. This meeting is about the future of the Shed and its Members. I am happy to report that the shed on our watch ha a great and respectful future.
I shan’t go into history and as any person that has been in the Shed since the new committee took over will verify, there is nothing now but goodwill and regard for everyone.
In regard to ongoing expenses, “use and pay as you go” has seemed to work well and we have found that a little from everyone and donations, has put us in the situation to keep the shed operating into the foreseeable future.
The Future Fund will be reporting to the Men’s Shed on the 31.07.2018 as per the contract.
The mantra will be “The Shed for the Men”. Not “the Men for the Shed”. Jobs will only be taken on by anyone that wants to do the job, and not be delegated to anyone else.
Many thanks to all Members and the Dorrigo community for their support.
Peter Donnelly – President."
