URUNGA Visitor Testimonials

The Honey Place

the honey place urunga 02Visited the Honey Place Urunga. The morning tea was great – especially the award winning scones – and top marks for the double shot coffee. The story of the bee was very interesting and well presented and there was a good selection of products on display. Tasted the various types of honey available and purchased 4 different varieties, as we couldn’t decide which one we liked best. This will be a reminder of our morning tea stopover at the Honey Place.

A must do when in Urunga area

urunga testimonial 01Today we visited the lovely seaside town of Urunga and spent a good hour or so walking the boardwalk, which crosses the mangroves and out towards the open sea. What a beautiful walk! We saw tons of wildlife including various types of fish, crabs, seabirds and to top it all, we were lucky enough to see a pod of whales passing by at the end of the boardwalk.

The boardwalk itself is easy, with seating areas at frequent points along its length for those who may find the exercise too strenuous, but we managed to walk the length with a pushchair and two toddlers in tow so not difficult at all. There are various points where it's possible to access the sands underneath the boardwalk.

We found Urunga itself to be a very pleasant town, plenty of grassy areas with picnic benches and play areas for the children. A thoroughly good day out and will be sure to visit again when we are next in the area.
